Lydia Flynn is a classically trained flutist, piccoloist, and pianist. She has performed locally with various organizations including the Capital Region Wind Ensemble, Schenectady Light Opera Company, Not So Common Players, and is a substitute flutist for the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra.
While she was earning her flute performance degree at the College of Saint Rose, Lydia was the principal flutist in its two major performing ensembles, performed two solo recitals, and won the CSR Concerto Competition in 2019. She also had the honor of performing in Carnegie Hall alongside her Averill Park High School peers in 2016.
Aside from her performance career, Lydia is a very passionate teacher and always puts the student first. Her goals with every student are to impart essential musical skills in their instrument, guide them to further improve their capabilities, present music as an important and healthy outlet to them, and as always, help them reach their new best.
Through hard work and practice, nothing pleases her more than to see a student feel proud of themselves for reaching new breakthroughs and major achievements on their musical path. Lydia’s long term goal is to earn her Master’s Degree in Music Education.
